I have came across an 1983 MonteCarlo I am interested in fixing up. I need help figuring out what engine is in it. I have the VIN but I haven’t had any luck searching it online. I know for sure it’s not a SS. Any idea how I can figure this out?

 

If I remember correctly the 8th digit is the year and 10th is the engine. Odds are if it's a V8 it would be a 305.
