Default add supercharger to "normal" engine?

i have a 2002 Monte Carlo SS (click here to view pictures of it) and it is not a supercharged Monte. I'm wondering if you can change it to supercharged or does the engine have to be originally "built" for/around the supercharger?

I know that there are way better ways to word this question, but hopefully you get what I'm asking.
Thanks,

Search around for something called a Top-Swap. You will find tons of information regarding the topic and how-to's etc.

It's an extremely common question, and a decent amount of work. Start reading, and feel free to ask if you have any questions

Just curious, is it possible to get a supercharged engine from another Monte (a wrecked one or something) and just put it into mine? or is it a bit more difficult that way than a "top-swap"?
sorry, im all new to this.

Anyways, thanks for the help,

You can do that too, but you would also need to get the computer tuned to your VIN.

Either way, you'll need at least half of an engine, wiring harness, and PCM work.

It's way easier to buy a used turbo kit and install it. Make more hp going turbo as well
