I'm sure this topic has been beat into the ground , but no help using the search button.
My passenger window is broke , the motor & switch work fine. I closed the door and the window just feel down . I popped the panel off thinking it had just came off the track or plastic tab had broken.
It seems the cables had popped off the pulleys , I tried for 3 hours to no avail to get the upper cable back on the pulley . They make it so hard to reach up in there , and the only way to see is with a mirror and flashlight . Really don't wanna have to pay someone to fix this.... Anybody have an exploded view of the window componets? Or have any ideas? Thanks!

 

 

Thanks jerry , Got a part description for #10 in the diagram? This is where my cable came off the pulley. Or a closer view of how the cable attaches to #10 ? Its no room to get your hand in there and hard as hell to see up in there ... You would think as common of a problem power windows are , they would make em easier to repair !

 

I just had the same thing happen on my 01. I went to Autozone and bought the motor and regulator together for $123.00. It was pretty easy to replace both. Just pay close attention to how it is installed before you remove it. My window works like new now.

 

... Update ... - I did freakin surgery on this window today , no good !! No matter what you do there is not enough slack in the cables to get everything lined back up , So after like two hours of trying different stuff , i noticed on one of the guides on the regulator plastic tabs is broken allowing the cable to pop off under a load - So looks like I'm getting a new one ( Even if the tab was not broken , still dont see how you would get all back on ) Thanks wonderful GM engineers !

Hmmmm .... Guess not $123 @ vato zone $45 @ ebay ! Sounds almost too good to be true
