I think I'll stick around even though I don't own a Monte anymore. This was the first forum I joined and feel at home here. Tried some Mustang forums and they were horrible for V-6 bashing - (I did find a community geared toward the 4.0 but that forum is not as active anymore). I will be approaching my 10 year anniversary in a couple of months.

It's been 4 years since I've owned a Monte, but I've stuck around. Haven't always been terribly active outside of the fantasy NASCAR, but y'all are good peeps. While I do follow the MCF Facebook page, I do interact here more than I do the Facebook page.

I do wonder though, if an MCF twitter page linking to various threads on here would possibly help stimulate some interest. I help run the twitter account for the storm chasing forum I'm on, and we try to focus on pulling people towards the main forum with that account. Granted, Storm chasing tends to stay a bit more current than a car that GM stopped making after the 2007 model year. But I can't help but wonder if that would be another avenue to generating interest from other Monte Carlo owners.

Thumbs up Thanks everyone for your time/post/thoughts

Thanks SgtMajor`Drew for your post & suggestions. I hope it's taken into consideration by the forum. It seems that many member's don't seem to care or have a defeated attitude about the future of the MCF (?) Many have given `up or departed

I always seem to expect too much from people.
It's sad that there seems to be more takers, then givers. Many visit the forum & take and give nothing back. Many never even say a Thank You when a member helps them. That seems to drain a active member' dedication/devotion to help or assist others.
It's sad when I see a member post & no one replies
I understand how many member's get frustrated and depart.

This forum better not die, it's the most helpful out there for my ride. I don't post all that much, but I am on here looking for ideas and for helpful fixes. Every problem I've had, someone has had it already and saves me a ton of time troubleshooting. This site has been the best resource I've had since buying my Monte just over a decade ago.

No doubt, Facebook does have it's place just like this forum has it's place, they both have pros and cons. Unfortunately, I don't know a method to "marry" the two. Not to mention, I know in years past some people don't realize that the FB page and this site are two completely different entities (not owned or managed by the same people).

I believe the biggest draw back about FB is that it's great for the "now". I don't believe it's very good for finding old information or organizing different threads of information. The material is simply buried.
That being said, I honestly hope that the Tech Info sections here are a strength to this site. A sad part is, with the car being a retired name plate, it's tough to say how long those sections are really good for.

What I miss are my early days here where every week or month, someone was modding something or restoring something. Just awesome material flying around all the time, pics and write ups. These days, not a lot of that (still some, just not a lot).

Thumbs up It's up 2 U >Yes YOU<

Thanks `Jason for your words, posts & thoughts
on this topic. I think John >Member: Turbo Monte is presently the most active member that creates many new mod's and update threads. I thank `John & all the member's that post their updates on their Monte's

I do believe as the Chevrolet Monte Carlo ages that there will be more member's rebuilding & reconditioning their Monte Carlo's.
I think the MCF can & will be reborn `if member's share their knowledge with others. I think it's up to the present member's to encourage new member's to post & participate...

It's all `up to you (yes, you)>reading this to continue to be active on the MCF...Yes, the MCF will `be as good or Bad as the Staff & member's make it. Thank You for reading...

Agreed, not that i'd want to pull people away from here but there is a way to make it work on facebook. Groups have a "File" section where you can upload things that'll always be a few clicks away, and they do have search functions as well, but that can sometimes be difficult.
