if you pull the fuse and disconnect the battery, that shouldn't be a problem.

just pull the fuse not the sensors? and theres no chance that it would go off once i put the fuse in and connect the battery again is there?

yes you can add them. there's a plug/play harness inside the steering wheel once the airbag is off. check the sale section i have all the buttons for sale with the harness too.

also, What wire (presumably, in the radio wiring harness) is the one to use for the steering wheel controls with an aftermarket head unit?

yes the blue led lights are bbengineer. the buttons itself can be pop out from the cover plates. all the 6th gen monte button cover plates are same. you can take your old one out and swap over another plate cover.

for the after market radio control harness i'm not sure on that cuz non of my radio button are working after install new cd deck. i don't even use the buttons even when i have stock radio.

has anyone done this the way silverbullit has done it or the other way?

I am trying now the way silverbullit did it, i unplugged the battery and the sensors, but i cannot get the airbag to pop out, i push the flathead in there and twist both ways and the airbag doesn't even move, does anyone have another way to do this or have a suggestion on what i should do differently?
