you talking about the **** on the left side below the speedo that you can dim the dash and dome light? yes you have to take out the dash piece first and i think there should be couple screws holding it.

Does anyone know where to buy replace steering wheel buttons for an '05 monte? My volume up and down button is faded, so is the cruise control button. Just wanted some advice for the best solution to this.

ebay, yard, or dealer

monte07 i don't know on the 07 mc, but if there's a cover on the steering wheel on yours for the volume then i say yes. i'm sure under the steering wheel cover there's connector for it. you won't know it til the cover is off put it this way.

junkyard them or do a switcheroo with a junkyard with yours because usually theyl try and charge an arm and leg for anything on the steering wheel.

Anyones know how to actually take apart the HVAC? once u open it up the circuit board cant be removed because there is 4 plastic tabs soldered on there and i think there electrical connections. 2004 monte btw, i think thats the first year for electronic hvac systems

Any pics?

I was able to buy newer steering wheel buttons from Morad so I would like to replace mine as they are chipping.

I'd appreciate any help.

you gonna have to remove the air bag to get to them...it's easy, that's why the junk yard is a good place to practice removing parts before you doing to your car. lol!!
