Ok it's not the circuit-it is the connection on the glass itself. We are going to try and solder it back, but if it doesn't work do I need a whole new rear window?

 

There have been many different solutions regarding the glass issue. Make SURE the glass is not cold when someone goes to soldier the connector tab (risk of cracking/shattering the glass).
Some people have reported success with a product sold at the part store (for lack of better terms, it works like a glue, but is connective to allow the defroster to work again).

 

which breaker is for the seat and which one is for the defogger? when i open the glove box i can see a 30 amp silver breaker to my right and i can grab it with needle nose. is this the correct one?

 

I had to look at the pics I put in page one of this thread (as I honestly did not recall).

It looks like it's the bottom breaker.

I believe the circuit breaker in clear view on my pics when the fuse panel is still in the car is for the power seat controls. This is why I pulled the fuse block (it didn't take long to pull and I had unrestricted access to both breakers).

 

ok thanks! i will have to wait for it to get warmer out...

if i pluck that breaker the power driver seat should cease to work correct? i guess thats one way of checking lol

 

FYI I just performed this yesterday. It took 8 minutes. No need to unbolt wiring harnesses ect. I folded the glove box open, removed the 10mm bolt from the back, removed the fuse panel access door . I was able to flip the panel over and replace the cuircut breaker. And YES my old breaker rattled when shaken also.

I know this is an old thread but I just did this today on a 2004 Impala. I didn't unplug any harnesses. I disconnected the battery, removed the fuse cover, removed the glove box and the 10mm bolt next to the power seat breaker. This allowed the fuse block to be pulled out far enough to remove and replace the defroster breaker. I did unseat one relay in the process but that was it.

 

Were you ever able to find the kit or repair the connection?
