I too have the same problem. I fixed it in a more crude way, I used plastic glue to reattach the ears that broke. Then I took small aluminum strips to reinforce the ears. I used some small bolts and screws to attach it with some gorilla glue for good measure. It's working well and I try to be careful about leaning on it.

i got creative with a grinder drill sum sheetmetal screws and a console hinge from a 99 gp so far its lasted 4 10 monthes no issue so far

Looks great going to try it out! Mine is broken aswell, but also my glove box, the key lock seemed to be glued in when i bought it! and it fell out a week later so I need to pry it open with a screwdriver everytime! Looking for a fix!

might be easyist to replace the glovebox door with a used one from a junkyard. i doubt you'll find one you can lock but they are easy enough to swap, just 2-4 small bolts under the dash (at the bottem of the door). if i remember right that should drop the entire glovebox assembly out.

remember, most '95-'01 lumina's have the same glovebox, which should make finding a used one fairly simple. just gotta match your interior color.
