Repair Guide: Air Conditioner Ticking Fix 2006-2007
#31
Chibi, you sir are my hero!
Got into my car after work and the ticking was BAD. I knew that I had seen this on MCF at once. Got the glove box off and then turned on the AC system. The ticking came from the fresh/recirculate actuator ALL the way by the firewall. 7/32 screws by feel and a few 4 letter sailor words later it was out. I looked at the $20 new part online and thought, at 20 bucks it can't be that complex. Opened it up and it was ONE broken tooth, one made all that noise? Well, turn that gear 180* and re install. My car is now like it was when I drove to work.
Thanks again to all that posted and helped a new guy out!

I can deal without the AC for now, it stopped working this summer. But come winter is my heat gonna be an issue? I've had the tapping noise now for 2yrs, but it hasn't affected the heat, Yet......
