Where has the power gone?

Where has the power gone?
I have a 87 Monte Carlo with the 305 and I have been having a problem with the battery going dead after the car sits for about 2 days without being cranked. I am pretty sure the alternator is the problem. If the alternator is the problem, then could I also have a problem with the engine not getting much spark at a low RPM? What is happening is when I slow down to make a turn and get back on the gas, the car doesn't want to even go at all. I have to put the pedal to the floor and kick it to a lower gear, I am guessing that a lower RPM turns the alternator slower and gives less charge, am I correct? If this is not the problem, then what could it be?
Thanks

RE: Where has the power gone?
Your alt would have alot to do with your lack of power. I would have Twilight Zone test it out for you. But more importantly, wires could also cause these problems as well. I would look over your entire ignition system from bat to dist...

RE: Where has the power gone?
with any electrical problems like that, it never hurts to throw a new battery in there too. It def sounds electrical, but if after a new battery/alternator your car wanting to stall at low rpms is still happening, there might be something happenin with the carb, not gettin enough fuel to the cylinders. Definately sounds alternator battery related tho. just my .02 cents.
