Valve Cover/Oil Extension Neck Recall
Finally got the recall done, New cover is black, the plug wire retainer is gone so the wires are kind of just looped around stuff which is dumb. I kept my oil neck and engine cover and they do fit back on.
No it's not leaking , I changed valve cover gaskets when I installed the new zzp valve cover..

I wonder if the black cover is made from a different material (different grade plastic) or if they did that so at a quick glance they know if the car got the recall.
When I switched to the F-body aluminum valve covers on mine, I had to remove the wire holder. I did not like the wires "draping" like yours now do. I grabbed a wire holder from a 3100, trimmed the bracket and bolted it down with a valve cover bolt. Works great!

I'm still debating getting the new valve cover as I just had the gaskets done, spoke with the shop that did the gaskets. They suggested to stay current on oil changes and if in a couple years I get a leak we will know it is the cover not the gasket so then go get the recall done. I thought that was good advice because I didn't know if the recall had a time limit. They said it doesn't, so I can wait
Thanks Leprechaun for the pic! I guess I'll get er done since its a free gasket and cover and will save me the trouble! Im sure mine is leaking? (100,000mi.) I wonder how much a matching cover is for the rear?
