transmission will not engage or shift
I have a 1996 Monte Carlo z34 with the 4t60e transmission. It will not engage in any gear including reverse, its like the car is stuck in neutral. Had a code for the TCC solenoid and when I opened the side cover the connector to the solenoid was broken. I replaced it and the filter along with seals and fluid but still cant get the tranny to engage. There has been no problems with the tranny...no slipping, no grinding, no hard shifts. Can anyone tell me what I need to check next??? could this be a pump or TCC problem? only 115,000 miles on the motor and tranny. I have done lots of research but haven't found anyone with this problem so maybe someone here can help

Welcome to the MCF & we are sorry 2 read about your trans prob
Did you use the proper Transmission Fluid ? Did you check your linkage to make sure it is engaging your transmission ?
When you repaired the solenoid, was there power 2 it ?
I'm not a tech & just posting to solicit some more details to help our tech member's help you `if they can ?
Please check back on your thread to see `if anyone can help you..
Good Luck

Ok the problem ended up being caused by a broken shift 1-2 accumulator spring. The spring was in two pieces which caused the piston inside the accumulator to move crooked and the rod wore out the center of the piston causing fluid to freely pass thru. When I opened it the piston was lodged blocking the fluid to the forward servo. In the book it shows three types of assembly so I'm wondering what is the difference in the piston types and does it matter if I use a diffent type
