I have a 1972 Monte and I am having some shifter problems. The key will not return all the way back so I cannot get it out of the ignition. Also I have to start it in neutral because it will not start in park (however once running it does go into park nicely and lock in). The reverse lights on the rear bumper are also on when it is running and in park. I tried adjusting the linkage (ladder shifter on the floor) but it seems to be in the right spot. Does anyone know where I could go next?
