Let engine in car and support it from the top using fenders with a engine support bracket. Drop sub frame and take trans out the bottom. Easiest way I've found. Done this 3 times now lol

I concur with the previous post. I've swapped transmissions now...and I'm actually in the process of doing another swap right now. I'd recommend having 4 Jack stands and 2 floor jacks handy...it makes removing the subframe and the trans a bit easier. Sometimes I've removed the struts completely just to have them outta the way.
Oh, and when u start lowering the subframe...I remove one side's bolts first..lower the jack (and subframe), then repeat on the opp side. Also keep checking to see if any hoses or harnesses are still attached to the frame, so u can disconnect them before they rip off.
