Yep, thanks to this forum though (and, maybe a post by you elsewhere possibly) I have been doing a ton of lurking and reading so I've been altering some of my driving paterns, although I have heard elsewhere that idling is not good either on a cold startup for a long period, but not to exceed 2k rpm when warming up after shifting it into drive. I've just been making sure the car warms, but giving it a little gas after some idling time, after I'm into drive, but not exceeding that 2k mark to keep from excess wear. Generally that's not too hard since I live in a housing development and by the time I reach a road in which I would normally speed up, my engine is warmed so it's not too much of a hassle.

Hey it's cool for every ignorant kid slamming his Monte Carlo on a cold start and eating up his engine somehow there's some soccer mom driving like a turtle, changing everything religiously, never exceeding 65mph. And that's who I made sure I bought off of haha.

Don't get me wrong though, sometimes my Monte see's the red part of the tach, but only when the car is totally warmed up. And my Monte only see's 65 MPH as the speedo needle is passing 65 on its way to 80, sometimes 90 on the highway. LOL But 80 is my usual crusing speed for my commute. 90-100 is crusing speed for my road trips (like Vegas! )
