XFD @Mamonte
Okay Yeah, so I've been keeping an eye on it thanks for the advice, I feel stupid for not knowing what those were.. but eh everyone was a n00b at some point, just got out of this thread, and it blew my mind.. (https://montecarloforum.com/forum/sh...ad.php?t=10942) . I'm going to have it replaced by this weekend so it's good. The leak is slow so I haven't lost much but I habitually make sure to check for anything under the car everytime I leave the drive.. it's so slow it hasn't even left a spot. anywhere.
I'm going to change the filter and fluid while I'm at it soo should I use 6, and if it mixes with 3 will it mess with my tranny?

Use Dexron 6 for sure! And no it won't hurt anything to mix, they are 100% compatible.
I've been using Valvoline Dexron VI Full Synthetic in my Monte since my first fluid change, and so far almost 90K, and everything is perfect!
BTW, maybe you can teach me something, what does XFD mean? LOL i'm lost on that one!

It's just basically LOL or LMAO but... XD is laughing so the X = the eyes and the D = the mouth... soooo, XFD, is "really" funny, or I guess you could infer from there. Awesome acronym though, maybe I'll start using it.
Also thanks on the answers for the dex appreciate it.
Is it bad to feed my NA 3.8l 93 octane and make it go zoom zoom in the red thing on cold starts in winter.

Oh ok, thanks!
Bad to feed it 93 octane, NO...Necessary, NO.
Bad to rev it to redline when the engine is not warmed up, YES, HORIBBLE. Always wait for the car to be fully warmed up to operating temp before you start smashing on it!

It's bad to red-line your car no matter what gas / temperature it is.
And why would you red-line when your engine is cold? All the hard parts haven't warmed up to operating temperature, and it's possible that all the oil hasn't gotten through all the engine parts yet either and you are just asking for a problem.

Yep, you will cut your engine life literally WAY down.
Did you know that MOST engine wear takes place in the first few minutes after you turn your car on? Oil has to start flowing to the parts (which happens almost immediatly, but still takes a few seconds). Then, metal expands TONS when heated or cooled, so as your engine heats up, parts expand, and "sit" where they are ment to be. Do yourself a HUGE favor, and give your car a few seconds to idel before throwing it in drive. Then drive it very gentle until you see the temp gauge at normal temp.
