Default Transmission clunk?

Well I am kinda sad and kinda mad. I just about have all my suspension stuff and now I have a problem. When I shift into reverse I hear the shift but then two quick clunks. Sometimes it doesn't happen sometimes it does. It sounds like its coming from right under where the shifter is. Only happens when shifting into reverse. I was thinking transmission mount? Any ideas?

First thing I would try is change your transmission fluid and filter. It can't hurt, and could help the problem.

That was the next thing I was about to do. Could the filter or fluid cause a clunk under the shifter though? I thought mount because of it only doing it in reverse.

I could do the Motor and Transmission mounts without a cherry picker right?

you could use a jack to support the engine from underneath

Its hard to say honestly. Is it clunking when you go into reverse, or does it clunk while you are backing up?

No clunking when backing up. Just when I shift from park to reverse. Not into drive or anything just reverse. It shifts then I hear two quick clunks.

IDK, if you are hearing the two clunks after it shifts, I would say its internal. I think that if you had a bad tranny mount, you would be hearing clunking/ noise all the time, in any gear, forward or reverse.
