My trans went south this past monday, I looked all over for one off of the local kijiji and had no luck without having to buy a car with a tranny in it, so had to go to a local auto recyclers and buy a used tranny.

Not sure if the 05 gtp tranny will work as I remember something being different about them, but I could be mistaken.

Here is a link to a tranny on zzperformance http://shop.zzperformance.com/store/...nsmission.aspx

but if you have an L67 you will probably need an hd tranny so the tranny in the link might not be what your after

This is off of 3800 performance.com under the tranny that will work for your car

APPLICATIONS:
- 1997-2007 Grand Prix GT & GTP
- 1997-2004 Regal LS & GS
- 1997-2005 Bonneville SLE, SSEi
- 2000-2005 Impala SS - 2000-2005 Monte Carlo SS - 1997-current most other applications using the 4T65E-HD transaxle

here is the link to the tranny in question http://www.3800performance.com/Merch...roduct_Count=0

looks like any tranny from a 97 - 07 gt or gtp will work. Look for a tranny with low miles, and if possible look at the condition of the fluid to see if it has had regular maintenance. The condition of the donor car will tell you a good deal about how the owner looked after the car, so you can hope that he/she maintained it properly, but that is still a shot in the dark. If it's in a car that runs take it for a drive and see how it shifts, as I'm sure you are aware are tranny's are notorious for the shift solenoid going bad causing the "hard shift"

Call dave at tep for answers to these questions and even consider him rebuilding you one. He is the best 4t65e trans builder out there IMO
