Top Swap Questions!
My roommate has a 2004 s/c Monte Carlo but he is putting in a turbo kit but he wants to give me his super charger setup with lower and upper intake and all that stuff but i wanted to know if i can take the top of my 99 3800 from a Buick Lesabre and turn his l67 into a l36 and vise versa with my l36. Any comments will help thanx.

RE: Top Swap Questions!
the only thing the same about a L36 and L67 is the block. they timing is different, the compression ratios are different.... not to mention the PCM's tuning. beleive it or don't, since the L36 has a higher compression, it can benefit more from the supercharger than the L67 can. plus, for it work on your car, you got to change the fuel rails? i believe.... basicaly, what your saying to do is a little on the impractical side... i think he hsould just keep it on... have both

RE: Top Swap Questions!
yea i know the compression and all that is diffrent pretty much im just wonder if it can be done caues we pretty much have all the parts and i can have my car tuned and even fuel rail is not an issue we have that but if i run the zzp 4.2 pully so im only hitting 5-7lbs then should my engine handle it. but one of the main reasons for all of this is so we do not have to use the blower as a intake manifold for the turbo setup

oooo.... okay.. yeah it shoudl work... you can actually buy all the stuff from ZZ performance to do it. what kind of turbo kit is your buddy getting and how much? I might be interested in getting a similar set up.

...guess its only fair that I chime in...
First off...HI CASEY! (1999l36)
This is what casey was getting at.
He has a lesaber (as you all probably gathered L36)
I have a monte (l67)
I am going to the turbo route, and he has wanted to do a top swap for quite some time.
Essentially what he was getting at is that I refuse to ruin a good supercharger simply to run turbo (i.e. guttung the housing and cutting out the bottom for better flow).
I just want to run a tradiational intake manifold and port match it to the lower.
NOW....I am under the impression this is all very doable without even having to swap the heads (lower/ intake manifold, t-body,egr placement and etc needs to be rerouted)
Simply curious if anyone else has tried this.
We are well aware that tuning/ compression/ timing and other characteristics are different, which simply meens he neeeds to run less boost
Plus, I will most likely be obtaining a shop licensed version of HP Tuners.
As for my Turbo Build, once I have started compilingparts, I will post up in this section.
