Hello everyone!

My friend told me he knows a guy with two top swaps just sitting in his garage, and he doesn't plan on using them. I may be able to get one for really cheap, or maybe even free! I was wondering if there was anyone in the Cedar Rapids, Iowa area that would be willing to help me do the top swap.

You have to be careful if they aren't stored properly where all the gaskets sit.

 

I would check it out pretty extensively before I bout it or got it. If anything, I could buy new gaskets, and refurbish the parts.

 

you would want to machine them if they're bad, dont try to grind yourself, and use a razor blade to get the gasket material off being careful trying not to dig into the manifolds and charger

 

If its to the point where you will have to do machine work it isnt really worth it. Get heads that are already good, thats if they arent too great.

I know everyone will attack me for saying it but at that point why not l67 swap?

 

Clearly top swap because he can get it for free.

 

Well if free is the case go for it.

 

I'm not sure if I can even get it yet. I don't think they'll be bad because he's a mechanic for the city or something.
