Default Top swap help needed

I had posted earlier that i was doing a top swap soon. i have the the parts needed
-sc w/lower intake
-heads
-plugs wires coils
-gaskets pulleys balancer
-injectors fuel rails tb
-pcm (yes i know it will need to be custom tuned)
-(already installed) full cat back exhaust, 3' zzp downpipe no headers yet-should i get them or just get a plog? i dont plan on droping a pulley size till i intercool it.
now ive been watching some youtube videos and i see people with grand prix and gtps ect with something called a scan gauge. does any one know anything about these? they seam to be really good. they are only about 160$ and display alot of different readings straight off the pcm! ive seen people running these with them displaying boost, KR, trans temp, and water temp. all at the same time. i was looking to get a pillar gauge pod holder and getting some different gauges and the scan gauge just seams like the bigger bang for my buck witch is what im looking for because im looking to finish my top swap soon and then move on to other exterior mods and suspension mods.

really looking for anyone opinion on this. or if you think i should just get separate gauges what ones? and if you could provide links to anything that would be very helpful

If your planning to intercool it I suggest getting headers now and not having to worry about them later. Also I use the dual aeroforce intercepter scan gauges and I love them. I have a triple pillar pod and have the dual aeroforces in there along with a aem failsafe wideband. Then I have a dash pod I made fit and have my aem boost/vac and fuel pressure in there.

Just some ideas for you on gauges I use

I have had both the scangaugeII and the aeroforce gauge. the scangaugeII is nice cause you can see 4 sensors at once, but the gauge is just slow to respond. the aeroforce is much faster. you could have a small blip of KR or other important data and miss it with the scangaugeII. that is why that gauge now is in the wife's car can i got an aeroforce.

with a topswap you should also consider having a wide band O2 sensor.

another option no one has tried with these cars yet is the PLX version of the aeroforce. looks pretty cool. I have the PLX wideband with their sweet display. i love it.

i also agree headers are a must with a topswap.
