crankshaft position sensor, 2000 MonteCarlo 3.8L
I'm wanting to change the crankshaft position sensor on my brothers 2000 monte carlo 3.8L. It looks like you have to remove the crankshaft pulley, but it wont come off with my 3/8" impact. Like the bolt is on there too tight. Does anyone know a trick to remove the pulley? Do I even have to remove the pulley to replace the sensor? one more question, when I replace the sensor do I have to replace the sensor gause also?,as it is two different parts.
Thanks for reading. I appreciate all comments and responses, thanks again...

sorry, I meant 1/2" impact, not 3/8s, it's a ingersoll. still wont come loose. someone on another site told me that to replace the sensor, you have to use some kind of special alignment tool for the sensor. anyone know anything about this...

I got the bitch-*** bolt to come out. Now the problem I am having is puling out the crank pulley(harmonic balancer). The bolt is out but the balancer wont come out. I rented a puller from the auto parts place and it still wont come out. I'm about to put a come-along on it and pull that *****, hopefully that'll work

I'm having this same problem. I wonder if he ever got it out. The bolt is out but the pulley is stuck.
