i know the aeroforce gauge does it. and you end up with something great to have if your modding... vs a scanner that will sit in a box or your trunk and only used for reading codes.

There are OBD II cables that hook up to your laptop via USB. So you can scan with your laptop. Though don't know which ones are good.

 

You have to have software to use the OBDII to your laptop. Which is great if you know what you're doing and would like to fine tune things. I plan on getting HPtuners in the future (one of the few that support most of the V6 platforms) but that'll have to wait till I get this transmission for the truck paid for.

 

Where's a good place to get the software and OBDII USB cable just to run scans with that isn't real expensive?

 

to get a program that's going to run and work well you're going to be spending nearly as much as the aeroforce, if you're going to just do this one thing get the aeroforce and resell it, you'll break even or make money if you find a good deal

 

I don't like it. I was wanting to try something on the laptop. I'll just try the cheap stuff on eBay.

I can get alot of info from the parts stores rent a tool scanner. But it doesn't show knock or timing retard.
