Need to change fuel lines. Where and how to join them?
Ok for my swap from the lq1 to l36 I need different fuel lines. The shop doing it hasnt made any progress and I'm taking the car home to finish myself. So what is the best way to join he lines? They had me pick up compression fittings from lowes. They are brass. I have a set to join at metal and plastic. The 5/16 and 3/8th. Is there something safer to use? Will compression fittings hold the 60+ psi

I came across the same thing when running new lines on my daughter's Grand Am. Parts stores sell a 3 compression fitting kit made for your car. There is an insert for the plastic ends so they don't collapse. I was leery of this repair, but 3 years later it's still going strong with no leaks.

Mine are done the same way as nitehawk- cut off where it turned to metal down by the chassis, cleaned it up- and double clamped the 100 psi rated fuel injection rubber hose to that- same on the fuel rail end.
Now that I've got the PRJ rails, I'll probably switch over to AN eventually...
