i dont have a bbc in mine, but i personally dont think that its worth it. unless you can get a 10 or 9:1 compression motor for butt cheap. the added weight and cost isnt worth it. how much do you have invested into that 350? im assuming not a whole lot. you cant really expect stellar performance without putting some money into it. the 305 heads are most definitely doing you no good. if you dont invest any money into a bbc your going to wind up in the same situation your in now. with an under performing motor itll just be bigger. id rather have a 350 making no power then a bbc making no power. bbc heads are expensive, not to mention headers, intake, and then an appropriate trans, and rear. i would personally invest in a nice set of heads, cam, intake, and pistons for your current motor. a sbc can make just as much power as a big block and cost less and weigh less doing it. just my 2 cents. good luck with it.

ya ur rite, i really dnt have much invested in my 350 rite now n the 305 heads i got are brand new, thats the only reason im using um cause the heads the motor came with were 350 truck heads n i didnt wanna cut my intake to fit um so i jus threw um on there, n im on a shoe string budget rite now so i dnt really have much to invest at current time, but ive been doin alot of research online n ive found that a 350 or 305 bottom end with current 5.7 vortec heads n intake make amazing power for pretty cheap, any truth ta this that u kno?

thats a true story. the vortec heads are the best flowing factory head. they are fairly cheap and relatively easy to find. they can make some pretty good power with a decent cam. you could also look around for used iron heads. the sportsman heads or iron eagles are good.
