You use a brace from the top to bold the engine in place, unbolt the tranny and cradle, and remove it from the bottom. Not an easy job, and 4-7 hours for a pro.

out of the bottom? it really doesn't look like it will fit, and theres practically no room, wouldn't it be easier just to lift the motor and trans right out the top then take the transmission off while its out?

What he means is to drop the cradle too (the big metal square that the engine/trans bolt to)- once you drop the cradle (with the engine supported)- you can unbolt the trans and lower it out the bottom. Or you can drop the engine/trans cradle as a set too if you want to go that route.

You could also pull it out the top with the engine- that works fine too; thats how I did mine with my L67 swap just because then I didn't have to buy one of those top engine support things, and didn't have to mess with the cradle and the PS rack and such.

yeah thats what i was thinking, i bought a parts car cause the transmission was basically done in my car, and the frame was so rusted it broke right off, all i had to do was take out the rad and stuff and the pins that hold the front part of the frame to the body i took out and the motor and all just fell right out the bottom...
