Dang this fkn sucks...
Well should I just go ahead and do the L36 engine swap(put the completely rebuilt one in), and then perhaps find a L67 to do a Top Swap?

You could, but how much are you looking at for a rebuilt L36? Is this something that must be done ASAP or do you have time to sit and wait for parts to come up used?

I'm not a big fan of rebuilding 3800's personally for two reasons- one is the failure rate with rebuilt ones is higher than OEM (obviously this is likely the case for many newer engines)- and two because there were a butt ton of 3800 series 2's made (especially L36's). I don't know exact production numbers, but think of all the grand prixs, monte carlos, impalas, park avenues, regals, bonnevilles, camaros (v6 ones obviously), firebirds, etc etc I mean there is a seriously high number of 3800's out there, it shouldn't be too hard to find one with decent miles for a good price.

The hard part about the L67's, is a lot of junkyards think because they're supercharged, that they're something rare and special- and sell them as such. You won't have that problem at all with an L36.

It doesn't have to be done ASAP, but I would prefer it... since I'm having to work around the damaged engine.
But yeah my preference would be the entire L67 swap.
