realy important Turbo Q
ok guys ive been thinking about turbo Ing? my car for some time but all i can find is turbo's for the 3800 i have an 04 3400 V6 I know the intakes for a 3800 will run on a 3400 will the turbo? and will the turbo mess up my S&S headers since you have to mess with the exhaust?

RE: realy important Turbo Q
i would just call the company and ask, but i'm thinking the exhaust would probly be your problem, and i suspect that a kit for a 3800 comes with headers/manifolds for a 3800 designed to feed the turbo

Well the big kit everyone drools over (Cartuning) still uses the exaust manifolds.
As far as putting it on a 3400 I would call them. Personally I don't think it is a good idea for that engine though. I would swap it to a 3800 engine first and then look into the turbo.

And as an afterthought, the Cartuning turbo is only made for the 3800. I am not familiar with a kit for sale in general for the 3400 weather it's a turbo or a supercharger.
You could try a custom option though if you have deep pockets and want to be "the guy" that does it and introduces it. If you are not that guy, then I would stick with the recommendation I left early and swap to a 3800.

actually people have turbo'd your motor and there was (possibly still is) a SC kit for it as well. have seen both a roots type SC and a C.S.C. for it.
the 3800's turbo kits wont work for your motor sadly. basicly what you will need is the following:
-turbo a T3/T4 hybrid is what most people use.
-waiste gate and blow off valve. some times the waiste gate is built into the turbo...good for a cheeper setup bad for later upgrading.
-need to find an exhaust shop to fab up a new rear exhaust manifold to mate with your front maifold. then have a cross over between the two manifoldswhere you would mount the turbo... then from the turbo you run you down pipe..... you can have the shop copy the design of your front exhaust manifold to use for the rear.
-you will want bigger injectors, possibly a larger flowing fuel pump, thicker head gaskets to lower compression, and tuning via a pcm programer like a HP tuner or DHP Powertuner.
that will get you started.... if you want to make the turbo push higher boost, you will want a better turbo and intercooler for the system. basicly the above is the very least you will need to get the car runing
