agreed. its 13mm shorter. you honestly might be able to swap cranks if you had a machine shop mess with it. i dont think it needs any more stroke though.
mak330 heres some info on the motor and trans on the ls4 cars.

Yeah, neither do I, I believe every other LS based engine other than the LS7 and the 4800 have the same 3.622" bore. Even the 6.2L engines use the same stroke as the LS4, just with a bigger bore.

So, you could always resleeve it I'm sure- and use bigger bore LS pistons- seems to be plenty of room for increased displacement there (going from the stock 3.780 to 4.065 adds 51 cubic inches- almost a full liter of displacement).

4" bore seems to be the magic number for making tons of power, just boring it out might be the best possible way to make more power out of that engine. It changes the flow of the air around the valves and allows it to breathe better.

I know in the world of old school Mopar engines, people are boring the318, 340, and 360 blocks out as close as they can get to 4". With that bore, some new heads, intake manifold, carb and cam, people are pushing 500 crank hp with a 318 block which only had maybe 200 horses back in its day.

you cant just bore it it needs to be resleeved, but yeah the extra cubes would be great. some more cam, a better intake, some exhaust, a built tranny, some slicks, weight reduction. then it would be a beast, and then i would need to buy yet another daily driver.

That's really the killer- I'm sure resleeving is a good deal more expensive.

That would make me wonder though- if you did spend the money on an engine rebuild, resleeve job, new pistons, new cam, new intake, headers etc- would it compare to what the bolt on turbo kit could do with just an afternoon's work? I bet you'd easily be 2/3 of the way to price of a turbo.

Too much damn reading to read and didn't feel like reading it all.

I did see somewhere a mention of a GTO or LS2 and ya they are fast but I got him and he pulled me and I had to slow down and when I asked him for another street roll to whatever he said ya but then dipped off after going back to the meeting spot

I only ran him from like 30-80mph and we went downhill and then UPHILL WTF?! THAT'S NOT A STRAIGHT AWAY LoL

I guess he got scared after he got rapped twice by the Z28 Camero LoL

against a stock one from a 30 roll, you should lose but not by as much as 100hp should beat you by and the ls1 cars stock from a roll i really think it would be the top end that would get you, but 30 to 100 i think would be a decent match up.
