Honestly, with my mods at the time (PEMs, 180 tstat, colder spark plugs), I had my blower ported and saw zero gains from it. No reduction in knock, a raise in knock if anything. Now I'm sure it does increase the flow in the blower and it probably would help if you were knock free. If I were to do it again though, I'd still probably get my blower ported. Do some reading on ZZP and their ported blowers, there's probably some valuable information to be had there.

it all depends on the level of porting and location. porting the outlet is done to lower outlet temps and prob wont make any difference on anything above a 3.4 pulley. porting the inlet will allow more air to enter the sc and thus could be why nitehawk saw an increase in KR. I ported my own SC before i installed the topswap so i do not have a before and after. i did extensive work on the inlet and adjusted the point where the rotors meet the blower case so that they can squeeze more in in before they seal.

if you have a spare SC and are handy with a dremal/diegrinder i say give it a try or get one used for a good price. or just save and get a gen V blower and run that as they are a revised design.
