ok, so with all the mods i will be doing shortly, i know i need a custom tune! i have a chance to pick up a PCM from an 04 intimidator, would this PCM do enough for me to drive about 1.5 hrs to intense for a dyno tune? or will be doing more harm than good?

You can't use another person's PCM unless it's programmed to your car. They go by VIN. Also if you use a supercharged PCM, your MAF tables are changed and I don't think it will quite work for you.

If you are driving to a place to get the dyno tune, then your current PCM should be fine no?

If you aren't doing things by mail you don't have to worry about cores. I don't understand why you are looking at PCMs when your current one is getting tuned?

i have a stock NA PCM, and im adding a cam, SC, headers...lot's of things..

i would like to keep my stock PCM, well stock...i just need to know if this 04 PCM can at least get me to intense, or if i should just get a canned tune, and use it as the core.

So you want to have 2 PCMs?

If that's the case, I would drive there on your stock PCM, and then swap the PCMs and have the new one programmed for you car.

yea, i want my stock one left alone so if i ever demod, i can slap it right back in there...

im only spending $30 shipped for the PCM... even if i send it in for a canned tune, it's a good price for a core..

Honestly though, if you ever demod, all you have to do is get your stock PCM flashed back to factory settings, or THEN buy the canned PCM.

I would say just get your current PCM tuned and call it a day. Worry about the demod if you ever do it.
