P 1811 trans code
Hello,
I think I am one of the lucky ones as I am in my 3rd month of my 03 Monte Carlo LS 3.4 litre v6. with 60,000 original one owner miles. I and have receipts of previous repairs. One was for a 1700.00 repair for a P1811 transmission issue, From what I see the car had several things done, r&r of the valve body, and reconditioned it, new oil pump, replaced spacer plate, pressure control valve replaced they did a complete fluid change of course and A TFP valve and gasket. Of course I am not a mechanic but this seems to have been what's called a soft rebuild? also it was done at the Chevy dealer and done at 57,000 mi ( the car now has just over 60,000)
The car seems to shift great, drives nice and does not look or drive like it is a 10 yr old car, The only issue since I had it was a intake gasket leak both the upper and lower, so I had that done and all new hoses, new water pump ( since it was out anyway) and a new serpentine belt.
I am very happy with this car it was well taken care of. I just wonder a few things.....
1, the transmission, when should I change the fluid again? at 90,000 mi? also, the intake gaskets were replaced with Felpro gaskets as I was told they are the best...
thanks for reading my post..
