2004 mc ls code 1811 for transmission?
Hi. I am new to thissite so my apologies if I posted in the wrong forum. This topic may have been discussed on here before but it didn't turn up on the search.
I have an '04 monte ls with 60kand I have recently noticed what feels like my trans skipping agear as I start driving from a stop light. I also feel the occasional harshshudder as the automatic upshifts. This occurs about 1 in 10 times I drive the car. I've taken to the dealer who found code 1811 and told me that the trans needs to be rebuilt. The tech told me that it's not the pressure control solenoid which I have difficulty believing him. I fluid looked and smelled clean. I flushed the transmission fluid at 45K. I'd hate to rebuild/replace the trans if there are better alternatives. Suggestions?

clean fluid and tranny flushes dont necessarily mean the tranny is good. your torque converter could be damaged (broken, bent, or chipped flywheel), a tooth could b missin on one of the gears, a channel could b slightly plugged. anywho do u have a reason not to trust the shop? if so head sumwhere else...

Code P1811 sets when the transmission takes more than .65 seconds to complete a shift at least 2 consecutive times during the same trip. The powertrain control module monitors the length of time to complete a shiftfrom rpm data supplied bythe transmission input shaft speed sensor. There are many things that can cause this code to set.The pressure control solenoid is a possible cause of this code.Another common cause is worn spool valve bores in the valve body, usually on higher mileage vehicles.
