Default oil question

I have a 2000 model monte Carlo with a v6 not the ss version. I changed the oil in it the other day becausee for one it needed it and two because I just got the car. .. well after having it on the lift I could hear a noise coming from the oil pan. No check engine light is on. Could it be the pump or the oil pressure sensor?

The oil sensor wouldn't make any noise. If it's a knocking sound a connecting rod may have spun a bearing. The seller may have put a thicker viscosity oil in the engine to mask it so they could sell the car. Now that the proper viscosity oil is in the engine the noise is apparent. If it is a whirling/grinding sound it may be the pump, but they usually seize up when they fail and don't make noise.
