Default Oil pan gasket.

Alright so im replacing my rear main seal and a couple other things while its there really soon and my oil pan looks like its leaking too. The gasket is metal so should i even change it or just put some new sealant on the old one? Also what seal would be between the engine and the trans? My parts manager cant find one on the diagram but my dad thinks there might be a seal there. Any ideas what i could be?

With all the work you're putting into the vehicle why chance a leak by reusing the old gasket? Buy a new one. Torque the bolts in the correct sequence and don't over tighten them. If you do there's a good chance the new gasket will leak.

Agree if its leaking why reuse that gasket buy a new one. As said by 03ssle torque in correct and to correct spec. Also if you have a 3800 there is no gasket between engine and trans. I'm not sure about the 3400 but I don't think it does either.
