Oil changes on a summer car....
if you can afford to have a summer only car I would think you can afford $30 in oil and filter and change it yourself hah
to be safe i would just change it, you don't "need" it, but it's insurance basically.

Nice find on that VANOS thing!! That engine looks like CRAP!! Almost looked like metal shavings in one of the pics (or maybe it's how the light hits that crap formally known as oil). 40-60K. YUCK!
I've had my Grand Am heads off at 180K and I tore down to the LIM on my Monte this spring, NOTHING looked close to those pics.

I've used Blackstone labs in the past and they seem to do a good job.
I also only drive my Dale Jr Monte during nice weather and have only put a little over 5,000 miles on it since Dec 2009 when I bought it. I change the oil once a year with Conventional Valvoline oil.
