Default NGK G Power Plugs

I know that the stock plugs are AC Delco made by NGK. I have a 2000 SS with the 3.8. I have searched but have found confusing posts. Are the stock plugs for that year Iridium. If so, can I replace with platinum. I have a set of the G Power plugs already and a OEM set of new wires and coil packs. Please help clear this up.

In 2000-2005, the stock plugs were Platinum. In 2006+ they switched to Iridium plugs.

Ok thanks guys. I did get the G Power's for 2.50 a piece so 15 for a set of six was not a bad deal at all. Got hosed on the wires but that is because I bought them at the dealer. Coil packs were left over from a Grand Prix that I wrapped around a tree so I don't know how much I paid for those.

i got a question. i believe this is in the rigth thread. i am thinking about changing the plugs in my 2005 ls. now i am thinking about the irridium plugs also, i dont know the best brand though, maybe the pulse plugs are good?

i got to get to them first, does anyone know where the plugs are located? are they on top of the engine toward the back where those wires run to the big black plugs, behind the 3400 hp engine cover??
