Default NGK Iridium Spark Plugs, worth it?

Another cheap mod I've read about is upgrading your spark plugs. On a dyno chart for a Dodge SRT-4 NGK iridium plugs show a 2.76 WHP and 5.4 lbs of torque gain over stock. Not much that you're going to feel, but it might take a few hundreths of tenths of a second off your car, not to mention iridium lasts 100,000 miles they say. But the plugs are $9.95 a piece, and I need 6 of 'em for my '03 Monte SS. They say it gives you better idling, increased fuel economy, the plugs last longer, and a slight power boost. Is this worth it? Will I feel anything?

When you get into modding your engines, sometimes you need to get a set of colder spark plugs. So companies like to "mess" with dyno charts and have a few mods on, then change something like the plugs to show the mods FINALLY releasing their potential. I would say that stock plugs are PERFECTLY fine until you start to worry about a lot of engine modifications / getting into boost.

06-07 Monte Carlo's came standard with Iridium Plugs. Mine were like 8.95 each for the stock AC Delco Iridium plugs from the Chevy dealer.

mot to be funny or mean the ac delco plugs call for the car are the ngk name brand when you have the chace look at the plugs. only thing difference is you buying the name ngk on the plug i noticed it when i tuned up my car. thats why i went to the e-3 but the part store i went to the e-3 plugs were 3.50 cheaper than the ngk plugs. e-3 were 6.50 ngk type 9.50 give or take befor tax

Are you sure? I saw the box and the plugs...They said Ac Delco Iriduim on the box, and the plug itself said Ac Delco on it. There was nothing NGK written on them. Unless NGK makes the plug for Ac Delco, and you just figured it out??? I always though AC Delco plugs were made by AC Delco...How did you find out that our plugs were NGK/ what makes you think that? I'm really curious now.

I don't know if this will help but I bought these recently and they have a $2.00 mail in rebate per plug (I thought it was a pretty good deal $4.30 for a plug that was $10.40 before sale price and rebate):

Does that seem screwy to anyone else- taking a reading to the hundredths place on a wheel dyno? IMO there are so many variable from run to run, that even on back to back runs with an identical setup, you could easily be +/- a couple horsepower; and trying to be exact to 2 decimal places is absurd.

not to mention iridium lasts 100,000 miles they say
Isn't that what the stock platinums are supposed to last?

All GM cars either come stock with platinum or iridium plugs...the copper ones have not been used for years in their newer cars.

I know the 3800 series II comes stock with AC Delco double platinum plugs.

My 3500 Monte came stock with AC Delco Iridium plugs.
