Default New Turbo / Exhaust manifold mock up done

Saw my Monte today for the 1st time in over a month. Not much has been done with it as Sam's Monte has been hogging all of Matt's time. I was up today detailing Sam's undercarriage thus giving me the opportunity to look over my Monte.

Matt has welded the exhaust flanges onto the new custom Cartuning exhaust manifolds. And Matt has completed fabrication of the custom built crossover pipe too.

He now has the new Borg-Warner 8473EFR Turbo aligned and mocked up to it's new position. Still will be some tweaking it around as the Mass Air and throttle body come into the picture.

And while we were at it I took numerous forum members advice and procured a L26 UIM since we are here already this far along. Matt says he will likely chop of the TB flange and add an modestly angled flange to marry up to the TB as required with regards to the turbo size and related placement restrictions.

Custom Cartuning exhaust manifolds now installed: Will be removed and coated after dyno runs completed in case any leaks and such and we need to reweld a few things.

L26 UIM is now part of my build, thanks to the not to gentle persuasion of this forums members. Got to admit, you were all correct, this is a needed mod with all the power this engine makes. Going to have it JetHot coated to when I do the pipes a nice polished silver.

Thanks bro, for sure it will be interesting to see where we hit this time around. The old build was 538WHP on 104. The problem was we kept running out of turbo, it would just drop like a rock when we got her up there. Borg-Warner's rep was there today, he himself spec'd this larger turbo based on Matt's build info. Matt says the BW rep is very interested in this car and what improvement we see with this updrade. I want to go kill a GT500 on the 1/4 mile. Well an older one, not the new 2013 ones,we will leave that up to Sam's 817WHP Monte. Only the dyno and tune will tell!! Fingers crossed....

That is some cool stuff! I love seeing custom builds! It's really cool to see how it all comes together.
