Default New Question, for me anyways

Hi MCF,
On my way to work this morning I noticed some Steam coming from between my Hood and Windshield on the passenger side in the corner. Not much, like the amount of smoke coming from a lit cigarette. I pulled over and checked it. Saw nothing. Started driving again and saw it again. I have Also been loosing coolant. So I suspect one of the coolant elbows. So I went on EBay, But all I was able to find was the Plastic set for $16, that I've Reed here are a GM weak spot.
My question is, where do I go to get a set that are better than the OEM. I don't want ti have to replace them twice! Thanks guys and I Hope you all are having a good day!

You should be fine replacing them with the plastic, but $16 is a lot. You can buy them for $5 at almost any auto parts store in the Self Help section.

ZZP sells the aluminum: - Aluminum Coolant Elbows #ZZ-ALCE

Also if you can find them elsewhere they are Dorman Part # 47065hp

Hi Mike, Thanks for the info. I'll Look for them this week end. If only my other problems were so easy/inexpensive to fix.

It doesn't matter how you get there, it just matters the outcome

Good luck with everything in life

Dorman makes the aluminum elbows. I see the aluminum and the plastic ones in all the auto parts stores in the Dorman isle. FYI - Dorman has had a history of using an o-ring on some plastic elbows that was too thin, causing the elbow to push out (I had it happen to me once, before the aluminum elbows, so I went and bought $30 genuine GM).

I can tell you, based on the castings, the genuine GM and Dorman are different elbows (and so far, the GM has not backed out).

I just got a set of aluminum ones from Autozone for 12$ or something like that.

The same Doorman part number as listed above
