I bought a brand new 05 Ford Mustang V-6 4.0L (my first Ford - I always bought GM). Well I was driving on a residential street - about 25-30mph and the engine threw a rod with only 1500 miles on it! I called road side assistance and it took them 2 hours to get a tow truck out to me. I was 2 blocks away from a major road - Milwaukee Ave in Libertyville, IL. I got the car towed to the dealership and my sales man was just leaving and couldn't believe my engine failed. Ford wanted my engine - they really wanted to get to the bottom of this. I got a new engine put in and after that everything was fine.

Just a fluke.

Pretty much every properly conducted consumer report survey is showing GM towards the bottom of the line right now. Sorry guys, but the Furds got you beat i nthat departmetn right now. In recent years (about 05 up), they have really cracked down on quality. (Thats right, Igot an old Furd in the driveway that I'm restoring and I'm goign to be devils advocate around here anymore)

I'd love to have seen your Chevy try hauling those rocks around in the trunk like that!

Have you driven a Fard lately?

NEVER had any major problems with a GM car or truck here...Not that I can say my dads Furd Rustang has been a bad car either, because its been a damn good one too....However, all the hype about Toyota is BS in my opinion...my sisters 1999 Solora has had TONS of problems. So i'll stick with American any day, and for me, I'm a GM fan...
