Default New Member - Leaking gas tank

Hope this is the right part of the forum. Anyway, have a 98 Z34 with a gas tank that's leaking, I think around the seam joining the top and bottom half. I've heard this is common. I'm not afraid of a wrench, I've changed alternators and starters and whatnot, and even the ignition modules on a Cavalier Z24 once (which was surprisingly difficult given their placement), so would you call this aDIY replacement and are there any major "gotchas" that folks are aware of? I'm still trying to find a book on the car, but I'm wondering if I'll have to replace thesending unit too or maybe just find some new gaskets. I found the location of the fuel filter but I haven't seen the fuel pump yet, that's not internal to the tank is it? Basically I'm just looking for a little guidance or advice from someone that's done a tank replacement before so I don't have to learn the hard way this time.

i just saw this post now...i dont know why it didn't show up before...or maybe i just missed it...but it should have just been a couple bolts and disconect all the fuel lines going into the sender and it drops right down...not really that hard of a job i dont think
