Default Need Help ASAP!!!!

Hello everyone, I have a 2005 Supercharged SS that had the flexplate go out in (I will update my other post soon to reflect that). I want a heavy duty flexplate and attempted to order one through ZZP but they are out of stock!! I have sourced the same one on Amazon but ZZP is telling me that one will ALSO be out of stock?!?!

Does anyone have a link to a heavy duty flexplate that will fit a 2005 Supercharged SS running a stock torque convertor? The Mezeire one is pretty pricey and I don't think it will work anyways as I'm running a stock torque convertor? I don't trust an OEM or GM one unless someone can give me reliable info that it will last as I've had two OEM's go out in a 2001.

I need to have this at a shop by Tuesday next week for them to start the work.

Thanks guys!!!

That's super frustrating! These stock flexplate can be so touchy for something that's really a pretty straightforward to engineer part. Really sucks that it's such a hard part to get to as well.

What about buying the Meziere and having it re-drilled by a local machine shop? That's a pretty straightforward machining operation for a machine shop so the price shouldn't be too crazy.

I just couldn't justify almost 5 bills for one LOL. I wound up having the shop buy one from a local GM dealer. In looking for these though I have found that there is a serious lack of HD flexplates available for this 3800? I don't know why like you said its such an easy part to engineer I would think someone would capitalize on this and design one that would hold up to increased HP. I see them for other brand engines, but not the 3800? I wanted the ZZP that was in my price range but out of stock, I called Summit racing and they had nothing and I checked Intense racing and couldn't find anything. I was able to find the Meziere but I just can't justify $500 dollars for one I would even lay down $200 for one....but not more than that.

Agreed, I'm surprised there hasn't been more interest there - even something like a Dorman slightly improved version or something.

At this point I think we're out of luck. The modding market is declining too much as are the number of them on the road in general.

Sad too these 3.8's are waaaaaaaaaaaay under-rated on the power they can deliver when "unleashed" LOL. I left a restaurant one night with my buddies son behind me in another car and laid on it pretty hard with the tuned PCM and literally had to let off the pedal 'cause the inside of the car filled with so much smoke I couldn't see. He said later at the bar "Dude that was legit" LOL.
