The ports that are matched are the ports from the intake going to the heads. The ports from the UIM to the LIM are unchanged.
Attached is a pick of an original port from an LIM to the head. Notice how akward the shape is. Excluding the injector boss, the goal is to make the port more rectangualor. The guys on the Bonneville forum have it down well, has to be more of a smooth 1.9" x .9" (again excluding the injector boss).
Not to confuse with gasket matching (as gasket matching makes it way to large and at that point you need to port the heads if you go that road).

For those interested in more info about this mod I did, I made a brief write up on my web site (which has some pics showing before and after of what the LIM exit port looks like).
Enjoy!

Currently installed:
ZZP 2.5" Down Pipe w/ High Flow Cat
L67 Coil Packs
UMI Performance Rear Trailing Arms
K&N Panel Filter - Stock Airbox
I actually have and I am waiting for good weather to install:
ZZP ER Rockers
ZZP HV3
ZZP Power Log
L67 Ported Throttle Body (see the below link for more info about that):
2004 Chevy Monte Carlo SS
Port Matched LIM (that was the focus on this thread)
And I am awaiting the return right now of a re-programmed PCM.
This thing should be SWEET in a couple of weeks (just looking for a nice comfortable Saturday or Sunday to rip the car apart).
I keep a "log" if you will of what I'm up to for my Monte on my Web Site, which can be found here:

No reason to feel dumb man! You were giving a great suggestion not knowing the goodies I have to slap on my Monte. I'm looking forward to getting the work done and feeling the improvement it will yield.
