Im about to do my first oil change on my beautiful 06 MC. My question is what the topic says, How do i reset the engine oil life display thats on my dash?

Any input would be greatly appreciated, Thank You!!!!

 

thru the radio.all your settings will be done using the radio .put your key on acc and press power button on radio.the settings aill pop up.you scrool thru those and when you see oil show up on radi display press the volume button.that should reset.dont have the manual in front of me.so this is off the top of my head.good luck

Thats the thing i dont have a manual. My car didnt come with one, hey dominic.. do you have a 7th gen also?

 

2002 montecarlo ss 3.8 v 47.000 miles.not to sure but i think it is the sixth generation.let me run to the car to get that info for the oil

 

#1turningation to acc or on.with radiooff#2pressand hold the tune disp button on the radio for atleast 5 seconds untill settings is displayed 3scrool untill oil life appears on the display 5press the 1 prev or 2 next buttons to enter the submenu.reset will be displayed#6press tune disp button to reset.a chime will be heard to verify the new setting and done will be displayed for one second7 once indactor has been reset,scrool untill exit appears on the display#8press the tune disp button to exit programming.a chime will be heard to verify exit.

 

this should be the same steps to change the oil life or all settings that you may want to change.this will apply to your carsettings include oil life/low tire pressure/automatic door locks /keyless entry/ remote audio verivaction/theft operation/trunk jamb/horn and chirp on timer/delayed headlamps your disp button is your scan button or the up and down arrow to scrool thru setting,hope this helps. dominic

 

The '06 and '07 Montes are different.
For mine I have to turn the key to run without starting the car then slow press the gas pedal fully down three times within five seconds. Then it's supposed to chime or the message flashes (can't remember which) and it should be reset. I can check my book tomorrow if that doesn't work for you but I'm pretty sure that's it.

 

i have the 07 the 07 and the 06 is set up the same way you know how to reset the trip it is the same way for the oil indecator
