How to get to the shift soleniods?

Default How to get to the shift soleniods?

Ok I was driving the other day an everything was going fine then all the sudden after stopping st a light I go to take off an the car takes off like normal but wouldn shift tell it got high on the rpms then i let ofan it shift once I touch the accel. Again bu then it just hurryed trough the gears it seemd an goes in to od at like 30mph sfter doing a pan service an new modulator nothing same thing still. Mechanic told me more then likely was the solenoids. Sounds right an if so how do I get to em?

If I recall correctly you have to pull the pan to get to the solenoids. Been a while since I've worked on a FWD car though so I don't know how different they are from the RWD trannys.

Turns out when mine started behaveing like yours...I ended up getting it rebuilt...I even had the fluid and filter changed every other year! Even though I took great care of it...things do wear out....Cost $1000.00
Now it runs like the day I bought it from the Dealer....


Just curious:
When it did shift.....did it feel like it had a shift kit? Thats what mine did....

I dont think you can get to them with the transmission in the car but im not 100% sure

You have two options.

1. Drop half of the cradle and access the side cover of the tranny that way.

or

2. Pull the engine & transmission and do it out of the car.
