Default Fuel Pressure Testing

Ok so I am getting a fuel pressure tester tomorrow and I am wondering where do I connect it to? My guess would be the Schrader valve near the fuel pressure regulator. I have the 3800 motor by the way. I wanna know how do I diagnose a bad fuel pump and regulator. The fuel filter is a year old. Thanks in advance for the pointers

You are exactly right. You should hook the gauge to the schrader valve. What I am not sure of, is what expected fuel pressure should be.
