Every time i pull the rad cap off to check the level, i need to add like 8 ounces... I have no leaks that i can find. everything id dry under the car. I dont see the overflow bottle getting fuller. Where is the coolant going? I replaced the head gaskets 200 miles ago so i would hope the air isnt passing into the cooling sys from the cylinders...

Im at a loss... help?

This is what my scan gauge calls 217 degrees. look about right? (pic)
i had a mechanic tell me once "a normal running system will heat up to around 225, fans will turn on and cool it down to 195." my car at the time was reaching 240 before the fans were turning on, and then they wouldnt shut off until it was down to 184. the mechanic was dumbfounded, it was ony a month after we did our head gaskets. i thought there was a problem with relays. nope. shortly after i also lost AC (everything on that system is new, and i know the fans are linked in with it) i wasnt losing coolant tho. i only got 2 more years out of that engine before it blew up. all that work for a lousy 2 years. if your losing coolant i fear its being burnt out exhaust if you see no leaks. check exhaust, have a compression test done. go from there.

Unless you have a tuner to change your fans speeds to match your thermostat then ur car is gunna operate the same with fans kicing on in the 200 range

Well, I guess ill have to do a pressure test tomorrow. *fingers crosses* I just rebuilt the engine so i hope its not the head/lim gaskets. sigh

I have an aeroforce scan gauge, but i dont think i can change the fan "on" temp. Do i need a special tool/scanner or do i just need to find a tuning shop to change the 'on temp'?

Any other thoughts?
Thanks guys. i really appreciate it.
