Engine oil pan removal
HI, Guy's I havea 2001 Monte Carlo with a oil leak under the engine. Going to try the oil pressure sender first. Can the pan come out with takeing the engine out or takeing it loose. I also have oil setting in the motor mount under damper do the front crank seals leak or would it be the timingcover. Oil is covered the RH side under the car and drips off the engine cradle.
The top intakeis also leaking would it be best to replace both upper and lower intake gasket. How hard is it to replace the intake gasket any idles on short cuts
Thank You

If the intake baskets are leaking I suggest fixing them asap. The crank seal could be leaking but if it was leaking there would be oil getting on the belt and then flung onto the hood etc. I am willing to bet its the oil pan gasket. If this is a 3800 engine you either have to lift the engine up a bit and unbolt the engine mount from the engine or you have to drop the engine cradle to gain room to remove the oil pan. Oil pans suck to do lol.

Thank's dose not sound like a ease job to do. It's the son's car i used it yesterday had the sun roof open and could smell oil on the manifold or exhaust. Why would there be oil sitting in front motor mount crank seal or timing cover. Will the motor have to be pulled to replace timimng cover gasket??
