6th Gen ('00-'05): Dex VI Fluid
#2
I use the Redline D6 transmission fluid, Top Dog fluid for sure.
It's a synthetic fluid versus most others being petroleum based. Kind of spendy to some people, But I think a tranny needs all the help it can get.
Link below for RedLine D6:

Thanks for the repys Guys. I went to the Local Auto Zone, and got there filter kit, and Castrol TRANSMAX™ DEXRON®VI ATF. Took it to the shop and had it serviced ($45.00 in labor)
The guys said it looks like it needs mounts (didnt say which ones) but showed me that when placing the car in drive, and from drive to reverse the engine moves ALOT. They said the "Shudder" I am feeling may be vibration due to bad mounts?
Should I just go and replace them all. I did noticed when they where showing me the movement the upper torque strut mounts (mounted to rad support) had a exteme amount of flex.
And which mounts do you recommend I get.
Thanks

I use the Delco #19264717 DEX VI (1L) or #19264718 (5L)
Maybe my part # are different than Chibi's cuz its Canadian. Everyone knows there's a difference between Imperial Dex6 and Metric Dex6

Using VI in a vehicle designed for V will not reap you any benefit. Although the base oils are slightly different, they both have the same final viscosity. Further research will uncover the fact that Redline ATF is the same formula and provides no benefit over using Valvoline, Quaker State, Pennzoil or any other major brand on the market.

Some newer vehicles do require VI, but that is because the base oils are different to compensate for the material used for the clutch plates. This will have no effect on a transmission that was rated to use V, IV, III, etc.
